Dark Souls II just got Steam Deck verified, I don’t even know what prompted the people behind the game to do this but it is true. For some reason it was decided that the lesser version of a game that already has a remake needed to become playable on the Steam Deck. Bandai Namco never ceases to amaze me with some decisions they have made, such as delisting or even removing games from the library of people. Again, I’m out of words because there was zero reason to do something like this, aside from pleasing the 10 people who still think the original game is superior.
Dark Souls II just got upgraded
Out of all versions of the game, Dark Souls II is the oldest one available, being one of the big titles in the PS3 library that many remember playing after enjoying the first one in the same console. The PS3 was truly a wonderful system, but it was going against many competitors that offered new things at the time, things that ended up shaping the gaming landscape to the way we know it now. We didn’t know what we had back then, but now we miss those days.
The game is overly hated, despite having some very interesting bosses in the roster and quite the intriguing plotline, apparently Dark Souls II wasn’t even meant to be a Dark Souls game in the first place. Considering the success of the first one, it wouldn’t be weird that Sony ordered From Software to do something about this and created a sequel to the popular game by using a project that was unrelated. This is why it feels so weird compared to the first game, but when you realize the plot ends up filling some gaps left by the first game.
