Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is proving itself to be a gift that keeps on giving for all fans of the iconic anime as the popular beat-em-up title is set to receive it’s biggest and most ambitious expansion ever with the upcoming Super-Limit Breaking Neo DLC that will add over 30 new playable characters, whole new stages, new customization options and many more into the game.

Officially confirmed to arrive on July 30 which is just around the corner, the huge incoming add-on to Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is going to inject a whole new lease of life into the game, significantly increasing it’s playability and overall longevity.

The official gameplay trailer for the upcoming DLC for Sparking Zero provides a detailed breakdown of all the added features in the upcoming DLC which includes the new solo mode titled Limit Breaker Journey, where you’ll be able to level up your favorite character by gaining XPs and Battle Arts from a new interactive map featuring different locations that trigger events and battles.

There’s also a new stamina system that impacts the battles in different ways, for example starting a battle with low stamina mean less health as the fights starts, however, lower stamina during difficult battles will also in turn increase the amount of XP that you can get. You’ll also receive senzu beans which fully replenish stamina in different parts of the mode.

You can also gain new abilities and increase stats of your selected characters in this mode via equipping Battle Arts in order to “unlock special effects such as limited-time boosts to your ki-based attacks or attack power increasing in Sparking mode.” Overall, this mode brings an RPG flavor into the game, which can drastically increase it’s playability in more ways than one.

As for the new characters, joining the already massive roster of Sparking Zero are several popular ones such as Pikkon, Super Android 17, GT Vegeta, Nuova Shenron, Uub (Kid), King Vegeta, Trunks (GT), King Piccolo as well as some obscure ones including Grandpa Gohan, Mercenary Tao, Champa, Bardock Super Saiyan among others. All the new characters, combined with the earlier ones, will allow players to set up their dream fights as they will have the entire Dragon Ball sandbox at their fingertips which will also add another layer of replayability into the game.

There’s also four new stages designed to take your Dragon Ball power fantasy fights to whole new levels (literally) and they are: Kami’s Palace, Planet Vegeta Stratosphere and more, complete with their unique environmental details, interactivity and even hazards.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero came out on 7th October 2024 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and was released on both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2 on November 14 this year. The game received mostly positive reviews from the critics and quickly became a huge commercial success with well over five million units sold worldwide.
