Prominent industry leakers have uncovered evidence pointing to an upcoming crossover between Epic Games’ battle royale juggernaut Fortnite and Atlus’ acclaimed JRPG Persona 5.
According to details shared by leaker SamLeakss and corroborated by HYPEX, the Phantom Thieves are slated to arrive during Chapter 7, Season 4. Reports indicate the upcoming season will sport a broader gaming-centric theme, making Atlus’ flagship franchise a central component. The leak also outlines plans for tied-in Persona content within Rocket League, featuring earnable cosmetic rewards that will cross-transfer into Fortnite.
While the prospect of dropping into the Island as Joker or Makoto has energized the community, veteran players are approaching the news with measured skepticism. A similar rumor surfaced back in 2024 promising a Persona cosmetic drop and themed weaponry that ultimately never materialized—a stark reminder that unannounced collaborations frequently change scope or get scrapped during development.
The choice of Persona 5 over other entries in the franchise has also sparked discussion among long-time fans. Atlus is currently gearing up for the release of Persona 4 Revival in early 2027, leading some to believe a tie-in with the Investigation Team would make more promotional sense. However, Persona 5 remains the breakout title that established the series in mainstream Western markets, making its cast the most recognizable fit for Fortnite’s global audience.
Should the collaboration come to fruition, it will mark the first official crossover between the Persona universe and Fortnite. Regardless of whether the leak holds up, Atlus continues to push the franchise into media outside traditional console releases. The publisher launched a Persona 5 event in Call of Duty: Mobile earlier this month and is currently overseeing a live-action series adaptation as part of the franchise’s 30th-anniversary celebrations.
