Electronic Arts and DICE have revealed the full patch notes for Battlefield 6’s upcoming 1.4.1.0 update, officially launching Season 4: Pacific Front on July 21. Scheduled to go live at 4:00 AM ET, with the season officially kicking off four hours later at 8:00 AM ET, the major update introduces a comprehensive overhaul to water-based mechanics alongside a wealth of fresh tactical content.
The headline addition for Season 4 is the implementation of full-scale naval combat, supported by a newly engineered dynamic wave system. This environmental mechanic actively alters movement, visibility, and engagement flow across water-based terrain, directly impacting how players fight from sea to shore. The feature will take center stage on the new Tsuru Reef map, a sprawling Pacific archipelago designed to facilitate simultaneous land, air, and sea warfare amid tropical vegetation, luxury bungalows, and steep cliffs.
To complement the nautical focus, two new watercraft join the vehicle roster. The RCB-90 Patrol Boat acts as a heavily armored, two-seat option for commanding shorelines, while the agile 7.7m NSW RHIB—adapted from the game’s REDSEC mode—serves as a four-seat light transport equipped with a mounted machine gun for rapid coastal deployments. Infantry players will also receive three new weapons: the close-quarters BROD 3 carbine, the mid-to-long-range EF88 bullpup assault rifle, and the integrally suppressed VSSM designated marksman rifle. These firearms are accompanied by the new Extended Barrel and 1P86 LPVO sight attachments.
Beyond the content drop, the 1.4.1.0 patch brings critical quality-of-life adjustments to the core gameplay loop. Water physics have been completely revamped, standardizing mechanics for swimming, surfacing, and underwater visibility while introducing the ability to drag and revive downed squad mates in deep water. General movement mechanics, such as slide activation requirements and object mounting, have been tightened to eliminate animation inconsistencies. Finally, the update delivers a refreshed Battle Pass, a new competitive season for REDSEC’s Ranked Battle Royale, and a broad clarity pass for the game’s user interface and HUD.
