Steam Machine Scalpers are pretty much asking for double the MSRP of the Steam Machine, which is rather insane if you ask me. PC gamers have been catching strays left and right, between people trying to scalp components, to massive companies trying to buy all of them to power up “AI” Data Centers, more and more crises pop up and force us to play the waiting game instead of playing our favorite games. Thankfully we can always return to some old classics if we don’t have enough power to tackle modern gaming, but after some time that can get quite old for some people.
Steam Machine Scalpers are bad
It is safe to say that the best way to beat scalpers is to not play their game at all. Let them sit on the $2000 price ask, its ludicrous to pay that amount for something that isn’t worth it. If at the price point of $1000 the Steam Machine was already a waste, what makes you think that $2000 is better? FOMO is seriously a big issue that happens with many people, and its even funnier when the very same people already have computers that are even more capable than what is shown here.
Steam Machine Scalpers, like any scalper, are just trying to wait for someone to just bite the bait and reel up the cash, you shouldn’t give them the pleasure of doing so. After all the market is supply and demand, and if people don’t demand things for a certain price then things will be forced to become cheaper if everyone just waits. This isn’t a need, nor is it a particularly smart purchase if you ask me, its weaker than a PS5 somehow, so if you want budget gaming perhaps you can build some DDR4 setup.
