Ubisoft has just revealed more details from the gameplay in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, providing further insights into it’s combat mechanics, advanced parkour system, new adaptive enemies, several types of takedowns and more. In a recent blog post, Paul Fu, the Creative Director and veteran developer of the original Black Flag has detailed all the various branches of gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced ranging from movement mechanics to stealth, laying down just how much the gameplay has evolved and improved from the original version of Black Flag that came out back in 2013.
And one of the biggest changes in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is several new types of combat takedowns which are the following:
- Hidden Blade Takedown: Breaking an enemy’s defense with multiple attacks will trigger a Hidden Blade takedown
- Perfect Parry Takedowns: Triggered by timing a Perfect Parry, Edward can chain his takedowns to up to four nearby enemies, depending on the sword he carries.
- Wall Takedown: Kick an enemy into a wall to initiate a fatal takedown.
- Ground Takedown: Grounded enemies (from an explosion or Sweep move) can be killed by a Ground Takedown
These takedowns will make sure the combat in Resynced feels fresh, engaging and unpredictable all the way through.
Another new element in Combat is ‘Adaptive Enemies’ which adds a nice layer of depth in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, making things much more interesting in the heat of battle:
“For example, wait around too much for a Parry, and enemies will react by performing Unstoppable Attacks that cannot be parried. Abuse a Kick too much, and enemies will quickly dodge them. The trick is to alternate between offense and defense. Varying your combos helps. Rotate between Kicks, Sweeps, Rope Darts, Pistols and Heavy Strikes at the end of your attack combos to confuse enemies.” Paul explains.
All of these new gameplay features will help to provide a more nuanced and satisfying experience while still honoring the DNA of the original Black Flag.
