Far Far West just broke a record many PC games wished they could break. By selling 250.000 copies in just 2 days of being out, this tiny cooperative game has finally managed to potentially recoup development costs. Small games need tons of visibility, and having sold around 250.000 copies has shown that we gamers care about seeing these kinds of games succeed. More small developers should aim for trying to build a good reputation with us, because the triple A companies don’t seem willing to do so. It is great to see yet another game about helping each other have this level of success.
Far Far West looks curious
Out of nowhere this game became big, although people are starting to get burnt out in the genre because there’s so many options to choose from. You have PEAK, and you also have a ton of other games that people can jump into, but Far Far West genuinely looks like the most original out of the bunch. There’s a reason many of these games come out but only a few manage to be as successful as Far Far West is, because quality can definitely vary. There’s a lot of things to lookout for in these kinds of games, but it seems that Far Far West has them all.
The setting is pretty weird you blast out accursed creatures and attempt to escape alive from what feels like a living cowboy hell. Many of the concepts seen in the game are also weird too, but they work, they are very fun to engage with, and they will definitely bring tons of fun to the group of friends you play with. However you have to keep in mind this is still an Early Access game, things might not end up being the same as they were in previous versions if it updates.
