A whole new tier for the Xbox Game Pass subscription has been leaked which is reported to be a ‘Starter Edition’ and will offer a total of 50 titles for all players. However, this baseline tier for Game Pass will also come with some restrictions such as allowing up to ten hours of Xbox Cloud gaming, letting you earn Xbox Rewards with Discord Nitro integration to some extent but most importantly, it won’t let you access any online multiplayer functionalities on consoles. This is according to reliable leaker and data miner Billbil-Kun, who has also detailed all of the 50 titles that you can get access to via the upcoming ‘Starter Edition’ tier of Game Pass.

Microsoft has also reduced the prices of several tiers in Game Pass with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 per month to now $22.99 per month and PC Game Pass now at $13.99 from the earlier price of $16.49.
However, the problem with subscription services is that they place too much control in the hands of the companies and almost none to the actual players and if services like Game Pass continue to become even more successful with moves like these, there could be a time when the megacorporations who control the videogame industry decide to make the entire medium run solely on subscriptions which means players would lose all control over their games altogether.
