Square Enix drops Denuvo from Dragon Quest III 2DHD

Square Enix did what is the right thing to do, they finally dropped the accursed DRM from an amazing title. Now people can actually play the classic without Denuvo sniffing all files on your PC, it truly is bothersome that most games have this issue. Companies who tend to care often remove it after it has been out for a while, when they deem it won’t sell any more copies. In reality, most of these companies don’t realize that Denuvo detracts people from actually buying the title. If you value your consumer rights, and if you still remember you have those, you must avoid Denuvo at all costs. We at Infinite Start will cover why.

Square Enix axes Denuvo malware

There’s a weird cult surrounding this virus, and most of them are just corporate bootlickers, while a small sector is people who only waster their lives at ranked queues. Denuvo is an invasive virus that gets installed into your system each time you buy a game that has it. In fact, Steam lists it as a potential issue on the store page of a game that has it, along with abusive EULA’s and such. People really need to give credit to Valve for actually disclosing such scummy practices, Square Enix is not a stranger when it comes to using them.

The gaming medium is doomed anyways, and most of the new games aren’t even worth touching. But it is truly sad to see that a classic such as Dragon Quest 3 suffered the fate of being tarnished by such software. Now people are going to go ham and get this game for free as a payback, Square Enix should have cared about their consumers before selling themselves to a malware distributor. Now you are obligated to find alternative ways to get your hands into this title.
