Naoki Yoshida no longer in Square Enix’s Board of Directors

Naoki Yoshida seems to have gotten his way. From a very long time, the man known by fans as Yoshi P has wanted to resign the charge to do games full time. However, out of all the times he tried to do so, Square Enix didn’t want him to leave that position. There’s no proper official confirmations as to what happened, so we can only assume that he got his way. Often times, being a director for such a company, especially one like Square Enix, can be a tiresome task. We at Infinite Start will cover what has happened on Square Enix.

Naoki Yoshida has his way

After the incompetence of the CEO who pushed for NFTs, no one would like to stay in such executive role. Since the 2000s, after the disaster that was the CGI fever dream produced by Square, a merger happened between two rivals. Enix took the opportunity to join forces with Square and take over its former enemy. Since then, the quality of Final Fantasy plummeted to the ground, Final Fantasy 16 failed to accrue enough sales according to Square Enix themselves. The shift to action based gameplay has left fans all over the world concerned for the future of the IP.

Naoki Yoshida might be a controversial figure to some, being lauded as the bringer of the end for Final Fantasy, but this is far from true. Changes happened with the series due to the decision of executives who give no free to the game developers. These same executives believe ridiculous ideas such as entire game genres being “outdated”. This terrible notion has helped set the gears in motion for the demise of many of SquareSoft popular series. The Valkyrie series is an excellent example of trying to break something that was already perfect, and the latest game is considered a mega flop.

The worst part is that things such as this can stop, but that will happen when consumers stand up and don’t buy more from Square Enix.
