Phasmophobia Reveals 2025 Roadmap, Featuring New Map and Key Updates

Kinetic Games has revealed the roadmap for Phasmophobia in 2025. It lists several updates, reworks of maps, and seasonal events that the ghost-hunting sensation will see in the future.

Probably the biggest addition this year is the “Chronicle” update, which adds in a Sound Recorder. This new tool will be used to help players track ghosts by picking up audio cues. When a sound is detected, the device shows the direction it’s coming from and will auto-start recording once the player is within range. All recordings will be saved in the Journal.

Later in 2025, Phasmophobia’s player characters will have a complete update. The higher quality models in the update alongside better animations and other little things will make a much more immersive experience. Character customization in full has been on the backburner until 2026, though. This is so developers could focus on the new “Horror 2.0” update. Upon its release, Phasmophobia will no longer be in early access.

Map changes are coming too. Bleasdale Farmhouse and Grafton Farmhouse will receive reworks this year, along with a completely new map. Kinetic Games have kept pretty tight-lipped on the latter, but they have mentioned it’ll be a smaller map size, set in an environment no other map has used so far.

In 2025, the seasonal events will continue, such as Easter, Halloween, and the holiday period. Then in 2026, Phasmophobia will see even more updates, including but not limited to additional map reworks, a new House Map, and even more seasonal events.

We at Kinetic Games believe consistency is key in the field, and just like every game port, it should not feel anything different. From a roaring 2-million-sale figure on the console within a mere three-month window, Ghosts continue growing with their future updates to contain more exciting improvements for ghost hunters.
