Infinity Nikki Fans Frustrated Over Regional Reward Restrictions

Infinity Nikki’s recent livestream, meant to excite players with new rewards for Update 1.2, instead left many feeling overlooked. The developers announced reward codes offering free in-game items, including 10 Revelation Crystals and 300 Diamonds, but only players with Chinese accounts could redeem them. For international fans, this was a disappointing reminder of the challenges they’ve faced with regional content in the Nikki franchise.

Infinity Nikki, launched to critical acclaim in December 2024, blends open-world with dress-up features, drawing comparisons to games like Genshin Impact. Its unique style and promise of regular updates have attracted a passionate global community. Update 1.2, set for release on January 24, 2025, celebrates the Chinese New Year, offering festive-themed outfits and events. The livestream previewed exciting additions, like a fireworks-themed ballgown and a gliding outfit, both of which are 5-star items in the game’s gacha system.

The announcement of exclusive regional rewards quickly sparked backlash on Reddit and other social media. Many players contacted customer support to voice their frustration, with some citing a long-standing pattern of regional favoritism within the Nikki franchise. Developers have since promised that international players will receive their own set of reward codes soon, though this assurance hasn’t erased lingering concerns.

This isn’t the first time Infinity Nikki or other Nikki games have faced criticism for overlooking their global audience. Past titles, including Love Nikki and Shining Nikki, were the targets of boycotts for similar issues. With Infinity Nikki off to a record-breaking start—earning more in its first month than its predecessors—the stakes are high for the developers to show they value all players equally.

Despite the controversy, Update 1.2 brings features beyond cosmetics. Quality-of-life improvements, shaped by player feedback, are also on the way. Infold’s willingness to listen is encouraging, but the handling of rewards like these could define how the community views the game’s future. As international players await their promised codes, many are hoping this marks a turning point in how the franchise engages with its global fanbase.
