How to Become a Sage in Dragon Quest III Remake

Among the many jobs in the Dragon Quest III remake, the Sage stands out as one that cannot be unlocked immediately upon reaching Alltrades Abbey. Players planning to transition a character to the Sage class later in the game must first meet a specific requirement to unlock this advanced job.

To make the Sage class available in Alltrades Abbey, players need to acquire a special item known as the Words of Wisdom.

The Words of Wisdom book can be found in the Tower of Transcendence, a dungeon that becomes accessible about halfway through the game.

After reaching Alltrades Abbey, players can head directly to the tower to search for the book. To find the Tower of Transcendence, travel slightly north from Alltrades Abbey.

How to Obtain the Words of Wisdom:

  1. Enter the Tower:
    • Make your way to the second floor of the Tower of Transcendence, where the book is located.
  2. Navigate the Tower:
    • To access the specific location of the book, ascend to the third or fourth floor.
    • Find an area where you must walk across a rope. Intentionally fall off the rope in the middle to drop down to the second floor.
  3. Collect the Book:
    • After falling, you will land in the area where the Words of Wisdom book is located. Pick it up to add it to your inventory.

Once you have the Words of Wisdom, the Sage class will become available for job changes at Alltrades Abbey.

When to become a Sage in Dragon Quest III Remake

The ideal time to transition to the Sage class in the Dragon Quest III remake is after leveling a Thief or Martial Artist to at least Level 40. This allows players to maximize the abilities of these physically focused classes before switching.

By doing so, players can combine the high physical damage and versatility of the Thief or Martial Artist with the Sage’s powerful healing and offensive spells, creating a well-rounded and highly effective character.
