GUNNAR Optiks revealed a new line of frames that feature mineral glass, the same material used on high-end camera lens, and telescopes.

Mineral glass is said to offer “unparalleled scratch and shatter-proof resistance in addition to superior optics.”

The first frame to support mineral glass lens is Tahoe, due to Lake Tahoe being known for its crystal clear water. This frame, which is the first non-limited edition Mythic tier style, boasts a number of features worthy of this impressive lens.

This includes high-quality Italian acetate, plus naturally sourced magnesium alloy, flexible spring hinges, Gunnar patented lens technology, and Premium Plus lens coating. A cleaning cloth, pouch, and “mythic-level” case are also included.

Unfortunately, this style does not come in prescription. However, it is available in Clear Pro, or Gunnar’s iconic amber, perfect for professionals.
