Gunfire Games confirmed the third and final DLC, Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon, will be unleashed on Sept. 24.
Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon has players return to N’Erud to uncover what secrets a mysterious location preserved by time hold. Details were kept to a minimum, but there will be a new “colossal entity” that players will need to confront come the end.
To help deal with these massive threats are new weapons, and an Archetype called “The Warden.” There will also be a new glider transversal unique to this location.
Along with the new expansion will be a free Boss Rush mode. There will be three difficulties, Triple Threat (three-boss run), Trial by Fire (seven-boss run), and The Gauntlet (nineteen-boss run). Each fight will ask players to defeat hoards of enemies, including an Aberration, before going up against these powerful foes. To aid in combat are a number of stat and/or passive bonuses making each run a bit different.
The announcement mentions “elusive drops,” though only clarified this to mean missing weapons.
Finally, various quality of life improvements, a new system, and prisms will also be introduced as part of the free content update. Prisms are described as a new feature to the rebalanced fragment system, which allows players to level gear for additional stat bonuses.
