As the release of the PS5 Pro approaches, many gamers are eager to see how it will perform with upcoming titles like Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). While Sony promises impressive graphical improvements, experts suggest that the PS5 Pro might fall short of running GTA 6 at the coveted 4K resolution and 60 frames per second (FPS).
Richard Leadbetter, technology editor at Digital Foundry, shared his thoughts on the matter. According to him, GTA 6 could face limitations due to its complex CPU demands. He notes, “Grand Theft Auto games have always run complex simulations that push the CPU hard, which is why every GTA game has initially launched at 30 FPS or lower on their target platforms.” This makes it unlikely for the game to reach 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro, which uses the same CPU as the base PS5.
Although achieving 4K at 60 FPS seems doubtful, the PS5 Pro may still offer a more stable gaming experience with enhanced visuals. Leadbetter explained that while the CPU struggles to maintain high frame rates due to complex world simulations, the PS5 Pro could still improve overall graphic quality.
Despite the excitement surrounding the PS5 Pro, it seems GTA 6 will follow in the footsteps of previous titles, prioritizing visual detail over high frame rates. Gamers can expect better visual performance but may need to wait for future hardware advancements to experience GTA 6 at 60 FPS.
