New gameplay footage for Star Wars Outlaws has leaked online, showcasing the game’s opening sequences. The footage, which appeared on YouTube, shows over 13 minutes of gameplay and cutscenes. The video has since been removed due to a copyright claim from Ubisoft, confirming its authenticity. However, mirror footage is still available for those searching.
The leaked gameplay introduces the protagonist, Kay Vess, as she recovers from a crash and finds her bike to travel across the planet. Early in the game, Kay faces off against Toshara bandits, showcasing the game’s combat mechanics. She rides a speeder bike, engages in a running gunfight, and eventually reaches Mirogana, an Imperial stronghold. Here, she navigates a Stormtrooper checkpoint to meet shadowy comrades at a cantina.
The footage includes various tutorials, such as managing Kay’s stamina during battles and lockpicking to access new areas. A separate leak on Twitter reveals Kay playing Sabbac, a gambling minigame. In this game, players use chips to improve their cards, aiming to achieve a card pair closest to zero.
Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch on August 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Those who purchase the season pass will gain access to an exclusive Jabba The Hut mission, which Ubisoft states is not essential to the game’s main story.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot highlighted the company’s substantial marketing investment in Star Wars Outlaws during a recent earnings call. As the release date approaches, excitement builds among fans eager for more previews and the official game launch.
