Foamstars Tropical Jackpot Makes Unlocking Characters Easier and Adds a New Mode

Foamstars latest season, Tropical Jackpot, makes unlocking characters easier, adds a new mode, and much more.

The biggest change with Foamstars Tropical Jackpot is changing how previous seasonal characters are unlocked. This was originally through an experience system, which would fluctuate based-off performance, in favor of a simple play X matches requirement.

At the time of posting Mel T can be unlocked by playing three Smash the Star matches, with the following four characters unlocking at eight, 18, 32, and 50 matches respectively. Along with changing the requirements, all unlocks are retroactive. I personally played 50+ matches on release week for our review, and was delighted to see every character unlock.

To go with these characters is a brand new mode called Jackpot Scramble. This mode is similar to conquest where players need to capture “coins.” Either team needs 400 coins to hit match point where a champagne bottle will appear. The losing team can capture this to gain coins, with a single capture on the winning side ending the game. Winning this mode will also give a trophy/achievement.

Foamstars Tropical Jackpot

■ New Mode: Jackpot Scramble
Jackpot Scramble is a simple thing: run around the town and compete for coins!

Collect coins that are shot out from the moving fortune slot.
When the total number of coins collected by your team reaches the max number, the victory bottle will appear.

Make it appear and grab it before the other team does to claim sweet victory.

Jackpot Scramble will be playable during the weekend at the following times:

A new Skill Gem has been added.

■Beginner Mark Added
New players will be marked as a beginner until they gain more experience.
When you join a party, you will receive the following beginner support:
・You may select the same character as other players (Smash the Star only).
・Your character’s performance will be enhanced.
*Support does not apply to certain modes, such as Private Party and Extreme Party.
*The beginner mark will be removed after certain conditions are met.
*Beginners and players on their team both receive an experience and Energy Stone bonus after a match.

The Foamstar Select device allows you to quickly change your selected Foamstar.
Interact with the device and press △ to select a new Foamstar.
*The current option “Change Characters” will be removed from the VIP Guest Services menu.

・Fixed issue where the Skill Gem “Sheeplechase: Skill cooldown time DOWN” reduced the cooldown for Meeehgaflare instead.
