Sony revealed their PlayStation Plus Essential offerings for May 2024. This includes a number of heavy hitters, and welcome additions.
Headlining the month is Ghostrunner 2 on PlayStation 5. This sequel received near universal praise, including a positive review from us, for building on the original in a number of satisfying ways. If nothing else, the fast paced one hit experience is worth giving a go, especially for those who redeemed the Ghostrunner when it hit PlayStation Plus back in 2022.
Joining it is the delightful love letter to The Legend of Zelda, Tunic. This was an experience we praised the second it hit PlayStation 5, and absolutely believe it’s one title anyone who loves older games check out.
Rounding out the month is EA Sports FC 24 Standard Edition on PlayStation 4/5. This was Electronic Arts first go at a soccer game without the Fifa license, which was met with mixed results. Given some time has passed, along with this year’s version likely coming soon, it seems like a great way to get players to make the switch. Subscribers will also get a special Ultimate Team pack.
Finally, this month also includes Destiny 2: Lightfall. Based off the blog post this is the standard version, meaning the other seasons/dungeon keys are not included. Still, this makes for a great addition, one that is perfectly timed given how nice the current Destiny 2: Into the Light activities are.
