Sony announced they’re no longer going through with their plan to reenable PlayStation Network (PSN) account linking for Helldivers 2 on PC.
This was revealed through an X post explaining Sony is “still learning what is best for PC players and your feedback has been invaluable.”
The response is not entirely unexpected given the overwhelming number of negative comments about the change. Steam reviews alone dropped to 18 percent positive in the past 30 days, and Helldivers 2’s overall rating went from overwhelming positive to mixed in a couple days.
A major driver for concern was a large number of counties that don’t support PSN accounts being able to purchase Helldivers 2, and effectively being unable to play. Following this Helldivers 2 was removed from over 100 counties. Given this is no longer a concern they will likely be added back sometime in the future.
