Kurtz is one of the hundred heroes in Eiyuden Chronicle whom Nowa can recruit early in the game. A crucial aspect of any army’s survival is having a skilled chef who can prepare meals for the members of Nowa’s Alliance Army, and Kurtz fits the bill perfectly. Alongside his impressive culinary skills, recruiting Kurtz to the alliance introduces the beloved cooking minigame many fans adored in Suikoden II.
Kurtz can be recruited as soon as Nowa reaches the town of Hishahn. To persuade him to join, Nowa must procure the recipe he’s seeking: the Grilled Tutuva Recipe.
Acquiring the Grilled Tutuva Recipe is relatively straightforward once Nowa completes the Proving Grounds mission in the Treefolk Village.
After clearing the mission, return to the village and speak to the Treefolk near the Trade Shop’s stairs to obtain the Grilled Tutuva Recipe.
Once obtained, return to Hishahn and present the recipe to Kurtz, who will then agree to join Nowa’s cause.
Kurt can be found in the Hero’s Den just outside the castle on the western side. Bring him any recipes obtained from NPCs or treasure chests, and Nowa can request that he prepare meals for the party to enjoy.
