MultiVersus Returns May 28; New Engine and Mode Confirmed

After multiple teases, Player First Games confirmed MultiVersus will return on May 28.

Details are still limited, but the developer update touched on a number of complaints. One of the biggest is changing the engine to Unreal 5, which will allow for better visuals, and more. Additional attacks/mechanics were also mentioned, though no examples were given. The same is true for Netcode, which is supposedly going to be significantly better than it was in the beta.

Unfortunately, no characters were revealed. Two maps were shown as concept art, one that looks like the Mayor’s office from Powerpuff Girls, and Dexter’s iconic lab. Beyond that, a new “PVE” mode was also mentioned. No further details were given beyond having unique unlocks.

Overall, it wasn’t quite the update many fans were hoping for, though more was said to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Anyone who missed the original release, or just want a brief refresher can find the official overview below.
