Foamstars Groovy Disco Season Adds Coiff Guy and More

Square Enix detailed what players can expect from Foamstars second season, Groovy Disco.

As previously revealed, and the title suggests, this season adds Coiff Guy as a playable Foamstar. We attended the first Happy FriYAY Party last month and had an opportunity to check him out.

Coiff Guy wields a rocket, and has several moves centered around wrestling moves. He will be an interesting addition as his gimmick seems to be more zone denial. This will likely make him a popular choice for Rubber Duck Party, while also making him less desirable in Happy Bath Survival.

Like season one, he can be unlocked instantly by purchasing the premium season pass, or by hitting level 31 as a free-to-play tier member.

Along with a new fighter are three additional solo missions. These promise to add more narrative to each Foamstar, and will conclude with a boss battle against “Dark Ramzey.”

Finally, this season will also feature two new Extreme Parties. One where every player needs to play as the latest character, and a one versus one mode. There will also be another Happy FriYAY Party where players can check out season three’s new Foamstar.

Foamstars Seasonal Event Overview

The season will also feature the following limited-timed events:

• Ranked Party: Rise in the FOAMSTARS ranks by competing in two limited-time seasonal events, the solo player-based Ranked Party Lonestar and team-based Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe. There are seven ranks to progress though – Bronze Star, Silver Star, Gold Star, Platinum Star, Diamond Star, Superstar and Party Legend. Earning enough Rank Points allows players to take part in the Rank-Up Trials.
• Extreme Party: Challenge players in two special themed modes; the All Coiff Guy Party – where every player team competes to chill opponent teams as Coiff Guy, and the Super Duel Party, where players battle 1-on-1!
• Happy FriYAY Party: A weekend-only party event with no winners or losers, just the opportunity to try-out next season’s FOAMSTAR.

Finally, for those still on the fence, remember Foamstars is included for free with PlayStation Plus membership for the month of Feb. There is also a unique PlayStation Stars collectible for earning a couple trophies in Foamstars, which can be completed in about an hour. A special cosmetic slideboard is available to those that started the party.
