PlayStation Stars decided to celebrate Cinnamon Roll Day by offering a special collectible that can only be obtained in the next 24 hours.
If this sounds familiar, that is likely due to this being the first 24-hour celebration collectible offered by PlayStation Stars. However, there are a few notable changes with this collectible besides actually taking place on Cinnamon Roll Day.
Instead of simply bringing back the original collectible, a number of changes were made to the reissue. These include a much better model, slightly different colors, considerable increase in size, and even a more refined base. It’s honestly like comparing the super cheap off-brand cinnamon rolls to a premium version.
Along with changing the award, players now must play Bugsnax to unlock the collectible. Unfortunately, those without a copy are out of luck, though there are two things to keep in mind. PlayStation Plus Extra (or better) subscribers can download Bugsnax as part of your membership. Long term PlayStation Plus subscribers should also have the collectible from when it was offered back in Dec. 2020. That version was limited to PlayStation 5, so those who have yet to upgrade might be out of luck.
Regardless of whether you can get the collectible or not, PlayStation Stars is not the only company offering something for the celebration. From today until Oct. 8, Cinnabon is offering buy one get one free on all Cinnabons. There is also apparently a “secret menu” that includes additional options like a cinnamon roll topped by Oreo cookies.
Might not be as sweet as the collectible, but it is arguably a better way to celebrate.
