Square Enix has now announced that Final Fantasy XVI has sold over 3 million copies in its launch week already. Square Enix made the announcement on Twitter.
This number includes the number of shipments made as well as copies sold digitally and physically. The game’s launch should be considered a success since it’s still only a PS5 exclusive. A PC version isn’t out just yet.
In comparison, Final Fantasy XV sold 5 million copies on its first day, but this was released for PS4 and Xbox One. Not to mention those consoles had a bigger install base at the time of launch.
