Tekken 8 Will Support Cross-Platform Play

Tekken 8 Game Director and Chief Producer, Katsuhiro Harada, confirmed Tekken 8 will support cross-platform play.

This was revealed in a tweet that also confirmed Harada wanted this a previous release as well.

While it’s a small touch, it’s good to see more fighting games embrace cross-platform play to ensure the online community is alive and well.

For more information about Tekken 8 you can find the official overview below.

Tekken 8, the brand-new entry in the legendary TEKKEN franchise, brings the fight to the new generation!

A Fighter for a New Generation

Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and exclusively available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Digital, Tekken 8 pushes the limits of new-gen hardware and technologies. The game features high-definition character models built from the ground-up with high-fidelity skin and hair, along with immersive graphics such as muscles that shift to reflect character movement.

New Game, New Rivalry

The TEKKEN series holds the record of being the longest-running story in a video game franchise. Just as the ending dialogue of Tekken 7 mentioned, this new entry will focus on the father and son showdown between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.

New Game, New Rivalry

This latest saga begins with Jin Kazama meeting Kazuya Mishima in a city-shattering face-to-face showdown.

Exciting New Gameplay

The latest entry in the series introduces an all-new game mechanic called the ”Heat System,” giving players the ability to harness aggressiveness as a tactic and incorporate offensive attacks into their playstyle, with special movements and enhancement of character ability based on each character’s unique features.

An Emotional Return

After more than 25 years away, Jun Kazama joins Tekken 8 as a playable character!

Iconic characters announced

Include Paul PhoenixMarshall LawKingLars Alexandersson as well as Jack-8.
