Rumor: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Special Edition Console Leaked

Images of a potential The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom special edition Nintendo Switch OLED model were leaked earlier today. Supposedly, these were posted on prominent Chinese forum, Tieba, which were found by Famiboards member Kysen, and ultimately posted on their forum.

Nothing besides the images above were revealed, which confirms The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not included, and the special edition will contain a unique dock, and Joy-Con designs. Based off the packaging, this is not a Japanese exclusive design, and likely European. This is due to the inclusion of English, and French, which are commonly found on Western units. Both Europe, and North American versions feature English, French, and Spanish.

While it’s not currently known if this is a genuine leak, or a well crafted prank, there is evidence to suggest there is some weight to this rumor. The biggest is previous Nintendo Switch units, such as Splatoon 3‘s special edition, and the Switch Lite, were revealed via Tieba.

Given The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set to release on May 12, 2023, we will likely see a reveal sometime in the future. In the mean time, let us know in the comments below if you think this is a legitimate leak, or a bad fake.
