Microsoft to Raise First-Party Exclusive Xbox Series Games to $70 in 2023

Microsoft revealed in an IGN article that new, first-party exclusive Xbox Series games from $59.99 to $69.99. For regions outside of the US there will be a price increase, but an exact amount was not revealed.

Among the first titles to be impacted by this change will be Redfall, Starfield, and Forza Motorsport.

A Microsoft spokesperson furthered this by saying the following to IGN.

This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles.

As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.

Some might be disappointed by the news, but it isn’t too surprising. Sony increased their prices for PlayStation 5 back at launch, with 2K Games, Activision, and a few more following suit. Now that Microsoft has changed their prices as well, this will likely continue until $69.99 becomes the standard.
