It has been a long time since the Call of Duty franchise was last seen on a Nintendo console. However, we may see the franchise’s return once Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard gets approved.
Xbox Head Phil Spencer tweeted out this announcement earlier today. You can read the full announcement down below.
“Microsoft has entered into a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to @Nintendo following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King. Microsoft is committed to helping bring more games to more people – however they choose to play.
I’m also pleased to confirm that Microsoft has committed to continue to offer Call of Duty on @Steam simultaneously to Xbox after we have closed the merger with Activision Blizzard King.“
It will be interesting to see what type of Call of Duty games get released since the Nintendo Switch is a weaker system compared to the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
