Overwatch 2 Announces Latest Hero Kiriko; Details First Season and More

Blizzard Entertainment formally revealed the latest Overwatch 2 hero, Kiriko. For those familiar with the name, she was previously mentioned in some updated that were pulled and a few days after a short featuring her was leaked.

Her kit was also revealed, giving players an idea what to expect from the support hero.

Along with announcing Kiriko, Blizzard Entertainment also added some insight into what Overwatch 2‘s first season will look like.

When Overwatch 2 starts early access on Oct. 4, players will have three ways to unlock Kiriko. The first is, any existing owner of Overwatch will gain instant access to her provided they log in within the first nine-week season. Newcomers can also gain instant access to her by purchasing the premium battle pass. Please note, the pass will not include enough currency to get the next season, a feature popularized by free-to-play games like Fortnite, though there will be other methods to earn some currency and eventually purchase the battle pass or something else. For everyone else, Kiriko is unlocked by hitting level 55 of the 80 level pass.

At this time it’s not clear how difficult that grind will be, but we can expect a better idea when Overwatch 2 hits early access on Oct. 4.
