[Rumor] The Next Assassin’s Creed Will be Set in Baghdad

Yesterday, Jeremy Penter, better known as ACG, tweeted that the next Assassin’s Creed title will involve the Aztecs. However, new reports indicate that information might not be correct.

In a new article written by Jason Schreier for Bloomberg, the next Assassin’s Creed game, codename Rift, started as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that ended up becoming its own experience. Apparently the title will follow Basim, with a smaller scope and more stealth than more recent entries in the franchise, with a release either this or next year.

Following the article, Schreier made a post on reddit furthering that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title will take place in Baghdad. The same post also touched on Assassin’s Creed Infinity, an upcoming project that has been confirmed in the works, saying their sources have confirmed a few locations, though none are Aztecs.
