V Rising: How to Dismantle Gear

V Rising is a survival game at heart. Although the allure for many may be the vampiric tone to the whole package, Stunlock Studios has widely adhered to the survival game covenants. And that means it won’t be long before your digital vampire finds their personal inventory and storage crates overflowing with loot, some of which will become unimportant or obsolete after a certain amount of progression.

Fortunately, there is a way to dismantle that old gear into more helpful resources. The game never explicitly tells you how to go about this, but rest assured that the feature exists. However, you will have to work for it.

How to Dismantle Gear in V Rising

To unlock the ability to dismantle gear, first build a Blood Altar. Use this structure to track the level 26 boss Lidia the Chaos Archer. Defeating this boss will unlock the Devourer crafting recipe, which costs 12 planks and 12 copper ingots.

Place the Devourer anywhere inside your castle and interact with it. Unwanted items can be dropped into this toothy, savage chest. Doing so will break the item down into more basic resources, which can be used for shoring up other lacking areas of your abode.

For those just starting out, check out our guide for crafting leather to get that castle upgraded from its initial simple form.
