Where to find the Key to Enter the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Elden Ring

One of the things that is frustrating and fun about Souls game is that it doesn’t give you hints as to where to go next or where to find items needed to progress through the main story. In Elden Ring, there will be a point in time where you need a key to proceed to the next area, and that will happen when you are on your way to defeat the second demigod that resides in the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

When you find yourself transported to the south gate of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, you will see a huge seal on the tall doors. Unfortunately, there is no way to enter that Academy to meet the second demigod until you find the key to open it.

Finding the Academy Glintstone Key

The Academy Glintsone Key to enter the Academy of Raya Lucaria is located north of the Site of Grace of the Temple Quarter. If you have not reached the Temple Quarter yet, it is northwest of the Academy Gate Town’s Site of Grace (see picture above).

In the small patch of the island north of Temple Quarter, you will find an optional boss that you can takedown. It is a big Glingtstone Dragon Smarag that if you manage to defeat, you will get rewarded with an item.

Just where the boss is laying, you will find a corpse that holds the key. You can either distract the Dragon Smarag so that it can get away from the area it’s guarding or defeat the Smarag.

Once you get the Academy Glintstone Key, return to the South Gate and open it.
