Metal Slug: Awakening is Not Coming to PlayStation 4 or 5

SNK Global tweeted earlier reports of Metal Slug: Awakening coming to PlayStation 4 and 5 are false, confirming the title will currently remain on mobile platforms.

For those who missed the original story, a couple days ago the Twitter account MetalSlugAwaken tweeted confirmation that Metal Slug: Awakening is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5. The news was picked up by a fairly large number of outlets, along with a substantial number of reddit and social media shares.

A follow up tweet confirmed various features and details that the supposed port would feature.

While SNK’s confirmation might be bittersweet, the global version is still on track to release June 2022.
