Dying Light 2 discussions quickly exploded this past weekend when its developer claimed the open-world zombie game will take 500 hours to complete. Depending on your expectations and available free time, this figure was either exciting or terrifying. Regardless of which camp you found yourself in, Techland has come forward to revise the number and better align prospective buyers with the launch experience.
The lofty 500-hour claim has now been dropped to 20 hours. That is, it is expected to take about 20 hours to complete the main campaign. Adding in the completion of all side quests boosts the time commitment to 80 hours.
Techland hasn’t completely backed off the 500-hour mark, however. The developer believes it would take several hundred hours for the following:
Time needed to max out the game with all main and side quests, choices and endings, checking every place on the map, every dialogue and finding every collectible.
There you have it. The most dedicated Dying Light 2 players should find themselves in the realm of 500 hours to unearth every aspect of the game. If it’s true, clear that gaming schedule for the foreseeable future.
