Destroy All Humans! returned to the scene last year, allowing us to reconnect with the crass and callous alien Crypto, also known as Cryptosporidium-137. The success of the remake has enticed THQ Nordic to move forward with a complete overhaul of the superior sequel, as announced in their 10th anniversary showcase stream.
Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed will, like its predecessor, be rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4 by Black Forest Games. In this groovy ’60s era adventure, Crypto-138 (farewell, 137) is hell-bent on taking down the KGB for their bold action of destroying the extraterrestrial’s mothership. The vengeful tale that follows is one teeming with as much absurd humor, over-the-top weaponry, and explosive destruction as one would expect from the series, now spanning several new locales
Those planning on returning to Destroy All Humans 2! a decade-and-a-half later will be able to do so physically alongside a Player 2 of their choosing. Black Forest Games is looking to stand by the original design of the 2006 installment by revealing that two-player split-screen cooperative play will be maintained in the remake. The prevalence of couch co-op continues to dwindle in an age of gaming evermore bound via online connectivity, making this tidbit exciting for the nostalgia-driven individuals out there (like myself).
Currently, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is without a set release date, but it is listed as “Coming Soon.” When the game does arrive, it will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
