From the start it’s obvious Mayor Enzo is going to be a foe. Not only does he rule his city with an iron fist, it’s clear he has an agenda and doesn’t care for your band of heroes. Naturally, this is going to be a fierce fight in Cris Tales but we have your back.
Prior to this fight, you’re warned about side quests. All of them are worth it for their own reasons, like In Need of Repairs gives 2,000 marbles and A Memorial to the Fallen gives a silver ring (10 defense and 5 magical attacks), but I just wanted to make it clear that the three side quests unlock a trophy/achievement. These are Memory of the Fallen, Machina Recovery and The Witness. Anyone looking for trophies/achievements should just get them out of the way.
Also, just to save some time, the item you need for Peter’s quest in the sewer is found towards the end. You’ll run into four sewer pipes prior to the door to the next area and it’s south of the fourth one. There you’ll get an orb that will progress the quest forward.
There is also a question after defeating Mayor Enzo about who should take over the city. Each answer has a trophy (Revolutionary Cry, The High Class, and In Good Hands), so make sure to save prior to fighting Mayor Enzo, and don’t overwrite your save if you want each trophy. If you don’t plan on going back to fight Mayor Enzo, forming a council will give you a silver instead of a bronze and is needed for the true end.
This fight really shouldn’t take much to overcome. I personally bought weapon upgrades, enough to have my sword almost at the cap and the shield two upgrades in but it isn’t required. I will say if you didn’t follow my earlier advice about defense items, now is the time to do it.
Unlike previous fights, Mayor Enzo is a single foe, though he has two wolves with him. These animals can be killed, though he will just respawn them. This takes away one of his turns, so not terrible but I wouldn’t bother with them and just focus on Mayor Enzo.
Another major change is how Mayor Enzo works in regard to time. He will not ever move to the right side of the screen and his attacks take control of your allies. In the event Crisbell sends him to the past, he will almost always take her over and bring him back to the present before you can do much. This is handy if you want to scan his team, just get Crisbell before Willhelm, send him to the past, plan the scanner and wait for him to push time forward. Or, since this fight is really just targeting him, you can find the information below.
The fight itself is pretty straightforward. Make sure you have a Syncro charged and used it with Willhelm and use the poison Yucca Rain on Mayor Enzo. This alone does, at least for my team, about a third of his health, with the rest of the fight just being blocks, normal attacks, and keeping the poison up.
