Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout delayed on Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Switch

Mediatonic announced today that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been delayed from its previously planned summer release date to an unspecified date.

According to Mediatonic, releasing the Switch and Xbox versions would be too soon for them to include all of the new features they’re currently working on such as cross-play.

Here’s the full statement by Mediatonic in regards to Fall Guys’ delay:

Hello bean fans!

Since day one, we’ve been dreaming and scheming about ways to make Fall Guys as awesome as it possibly can be. There’s a bunch of additions and features we’ve long felt could elevate our beans to the next level that just haven’t been possible… yet! Top of our ‘want’ list has been crossplay.

As you probably know, Mediatonic recently became part of the Epic Games family. This is something we’re super thrilled about, as it now gives our team access to a whole host of new tools to enhance the experience of those who are down with the Crown; from the Blunderdome vets to the first-time stumblers, no matter where you play.

Updates on Xbox, Switch and crossplay!

With so many new opportunities now in our hands, we’ve realised that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we’re working on.

While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience. This delay gives our team some time to add features like crossplay, so when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their pals, regardless of their platform of choice.

What’s next for Fall Guys?

We’re continuing to grow the team to best meet community expectations and deliver top notch future content. The heart of the team remains the same as ever. Fall Guys will keep rolling out new Seasonal content releases, fresh Shows, Costumes, Rounds and all the other delicious things you know and love. The rapidly approaching Season 4.5 update is no exception, with 2 fiendish new Rounds heading your way, plus delicious Fall fashion for your Season 4 wardrobe.

We don’t have a new date to share right now, but we’re here and we’ll be communicating any updates as soon as we can.

Thank you!

There will be plenty more updates to come that we absolutely cannot wait to share with you soon. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience and hope you join us in looking forward to our ambitious new plans for those mighty, mighty beans.

Yours sincerely,

The Blunderdome Construction Crew
