Persona 4 Revival, the highly anticipated remake of Atlus’s classic role-playing game, has officially received an age rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee of South Korea. The game was submitted to the board on April 9, 2026, and was granted a 15 rating on April 24, 2026. Historically, South Korean ratings serve as a reliable indicator that a game is nearing completion, often preceding an official release date announcement by just a few months.
This recent bureaucratic milestone aligns closely with prior financial forecasts from publisher Sega. According to Sega’s internal financial reports, the company has targeted fiscal year 2027 for the title’s launch, placing the expected release window somewhere between April 2026 and March 2027. Given that the age rating has already been processed, industry patterns suggest that Sega is likely positioning the remake for a high-profile holiday 2026 release rather than pushing it into early next year.
First revealed with a brief teaser trailer during the 2025 Xbox Showcase, Persona 4 Revival is being developed as a ground-up remake following the massive commercial success of Persona 3 Reload. Much like its predecessor, which used updated structural elements from Persona 3 FES, Revival is expected to leverage content from the expanded PlayStation Vita version, Persona 4 Golden, as its primary foundation. The title promises a complete graphical overhaul alongside modernized mechanical updates to streamline the original 2008 experience.
While Atlus has remained conservative with gameplay details, the remake is heavily expected to integrate modern franchise staple mechanics, including the Baton Pass system and powerful Theurgy attacks. Promotional momentum is already building behind the scenes, with recent retail leaks indicating that a dedicated line of Persona 4 Funko Pops is scheduled to hit shelves in early 2027, further corroborating a major winter marketing push. With the summer convention circuit quickly approaching, a formal gameplay trailer and a definitive release date from Sega appear imminent.
