Warhammer 40.000 Rites of War free on GOG for a limited time

Warhammer 40.000: Rites of War is currently free on GOG. PC gamers remember how amazing this installment was, and now the new generation is able to finally own this title in its digital format. GOG is the only store that seems to actually let you own the games you paid for, not to mention that they sometimes offer some neat gifts such as this. If you are a Warhammer 40.000 fan, this is yet another entry into the epic lore that you need to check out. If you are a fan of strategy, you should also do your due diligence and play this one. For fans of retro PC games, this one is also a must play.

Warhammer for free

Warhammer 40.000: Rites of War came out in 1999, a year that is still remembered by many as the last era of innovative video games. The entertainment space truly boomed in the 90s, and no other era has managed to catch or replicate the soul that lots of things had back then. Some small groups of people may chalk it up to nostalgia, but it was a fact that during the 90s, creativity was unbound and not tied to the whims of the corporate elite that poisons our lives.

Many fail to see this, since they are still young and grew up in online only titles, they really missed out on the best era of this medium. Graphics aren’t everything, and in fact, pre-rendered art styles hit different than full 3d environments. While some call low resolution, many call it different and innovative, as it was an amazing way to optimize games back then, while still looking marvelous.

The art of optimization is gone, but people are slowly realizing that older games were better anyways. So when the chance is still prime, why not engage with some retro fun by grabbing a free gift that you get to own?
