The First Major DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows Reportedly set to come out in September

According to Insider Gaming, the first major DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows titled ‘Claws of Awaji’, is targeting a September release. And depending on Ubisoft’s overall batch of post-release contents and other game releases, the DLC may also be delayed to release in October, which would make Assassin’s Creed Shadows receive it’s first DLC near the end of this year.

And while this may seem like a whole lot of time between now and the release window, considering the massive size of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the overall magnitude of the game, it’s safe to say that it can easily keep you occupied with it’s contents till the DLC releases.

Also, the wait might be totally worth it as Claws of Awaji is set to add ten full hours of new contents into Shadows which includes whole new gears, weapons and abilities. There will also be a completely new weapon for Naoe which is called the Bo, along with an entirely new area for players to explore named the Awaji Island. Overall, if you look at the contents offered, the upcoming DLC seems more like a smaller expansion pack, in terms of scale than a regular DLC.

Insider Gaming has also reported that a new co-op mode will make it’s way into Assassin’s Creed Shadows sometimes in next year. The new mode which is codenamed “League”, may introduce whole new characters as according to a description of the mode: “there’s a deeper narrative tied into the co-op that will expand the experience beyond just the two of them.” Which kind of indicates a possibility of more characters in Assassin’s Creed Shadows but we’ll just have to wait and see till then.

In other news of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft recently announced a crossover event between Shadows and Dead by Daylight, the survivor horror title and the event is set to go live on May 27.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows came out on March 20 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC platform.
