SteamOS has been released today, Valve takes a win

SteamOS is finally out, and PC players can now be free from the burden that is to use Windows as a daily driver. Not many may know, but SteamOS is an extremely user friendly solution that is an Arch Linux fork. In non tech terms, SteamOS is Linux, it’s just even simpler to use than Windows at this point. The relief of not having a bloated system that installs apps without your permission and spies on you is a big one, only a few clicks away. If you really wish to go to the next level on gaming, you really need to consider switching to any Linux distro, and SteamOS is a good start.

SteamOS kicks some windows

For those who have a Steam Deck, you are already using a Linux system, you have been using SteamOS this whole time. The cool part is that you can install this OS in your computer, and now it finally released officially from the hands of Valve themselves. If you are looking for that final improvement to your rig, you should really consider downloading this bad boy and closing those windows one last time.

All games that are worth it work on Linux, and the list gets bigger each passing day. It truly is a miracle how much Linux has advanced when it comes to gaming, especially in a few years. Serious enthusiasts of the medium are already using Linux builds for years now, and result keep getting better. The only thing it can do is running games with rootkits in them such a League of Legends or other online sweat shops. However, true gamers have long forgotten about those titles, favoring immersive single player experiences that promise originality.

There’s many sources that explain how to install it, and the process is honestly painless. You can’t really miss out on this computing experience if you are a serious gamer, it does not get better than free.
