Rogue Worlds is a spinoff in the Aura of Worlds series. This game released just now and it seems like it will remain free on Steam forever. PC gamers have accrued yet another quality indie title that seems to have been made with passion. The team at Cognitive Forge has been developing games and mods for a long time now, and Aura of Worlds has been in active development since 2013. They truly are the definition of indie, being a studio that works part time in game projects and other things for the gaming community. This one has the advantage to work on Linux too, yet another win for the Linux users.
Rogue Worlds is a chaotic tactical roguelite platformer where you wield the environment and creative abilities to overcome challenges. It seems that the game’s main focus is trying to use the environment to your advantage, which brings a ton of different mobility options, much to the like of Dead Cells. Dead Cells is honestly one of the best games in the genre, but it has been years since it came out, we need new blood to come and it seems that Rogue Worlds brings us that.
It never gets better than free, so adding this title to your library is a must, it also shows to the developers that you actually care about what you do. They do have a personal site which is quite neat considering the internet seems to force you into anti social media quite often. While it does not seem to be updated for a while, I bet they will come back to it when things get icky in the cyberspace.
We do wish them success in their creative endeavors, and we hope that they can keep releasing new titles so we can ensure to have enough to keep the gaming hobby alive.
