Koei Tecmo Reports Record Profits

Gaming giant Koei Tecmo, best known for its extremely popular action series Dynasty Warriors and Ninja Gaiden, has announced a record-breaking fiscal year 2024. In the latest financial report, the company reflects an incredible 11.4% rise in profits, to a rough estimate of 250 million US dollars. This massive success was a testament to the publisher’s astute policy of launching five flagship titles during the first three months of 2025, which appealed immensely to its existing player base.

The year kicked off with the launch of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, beautifully positioned as an entry point for new players into the mainstream Musou series. This was quickly followed by Warriors: Abyss, a progressive roguelike installment which keeps on building upon the expansive Dynasty Warriors franchise. As a welcome surprise to fans of the far-reaching franchise, Koei Tecmo further announced a remastered edition of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, together with the same-day long-awaited reveal of Ninja Gaiden 4 during Xbox’s Developer Direct event. To complement these blockbusters, two other games launched in March: Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme.

The company’s fiscal year began on April 1, 2024, as seen in its financial report, which indicates that commercial success of the PlayStation 5 exclusive game Rise of the Ronin was a huge factor towards the profitability of the company. Further, record-breaking sales rates of Dynasty Warriors: Origins and the budget-friendliness of the Ninja Gaiden 2 Black remaster helped in contributing towards playing a key role in such a financial achievement.

In the coming years, Koei Tecmo will have it keep going strong in its top-selling ninja franchise with future iterations of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, an all-new 2D action game, and its highly expected Ninja Gaiden 4. The company has also announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment for Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026. With a strong history of successes and a robust pipeline of upcoming games, Koei Tecmo seems poised to keep on the path of expansion and innovation in the competitive gaming market.
