Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Fixes Its Broken Achievements

Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has addressed and fixed the issues surrounding its previously bugged Hardcore mode achievements. The fix came as part of the “Brushes with Death” DLC patch, released four months after the game’s initial launch. This update not only introduces new story content and achievements but also quietly resolves the problems that Xbox gamers faced with unlocking the challenging Hardcore mode achievements.

The original game and its sequel were known for their lack of adjustable difficulty settings at launch, with the Hardcore option being added later. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 introduced two new achievements with this mode: “Hardcore Henry II,” worth 10 Gamerscore for completing the game on Hardcore mode, and “Against All Odds,” a more demanding 90-Gamerscore achievement requiring players to finish the game on Hardcore with all negative perks enabled.

However, upon attempting to unlock these achievements, Xbox gamers reported that they were bugged. The recent “Brushes with Death” DLC patch appears to have rectified this issue. According to TrueAchievements, Patch 1.3 has updated the stats for both achievements, indicating that players can now successfully unlock them. This fix was not explicitly mentioned in the patch notes, making it a silent but welcome update for the community.

Players who had already met the rigorous requirements for these achievements before the patch do not need to repeat their efforts. By simply loading their Hardcore saves after installing the update, the achievements should unlock retroactively. This is particularly good news, considering the time and effort required to beat Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on Hardcore mode.

Warhorse Studios has more in store for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, with two additional story DLCs planned for release this year. “Legacy of the Forge” is slated for a Fall release, and “Mysteria Eccelsia” is expected by the end of 2025. Given the 13 new achievements introduced with the “Brushes with Death” DLC, fans can anticipate more achievements with these upcoming expansions.
