GOG enables the use of authentication apps in 2025

GOG enables the ability to use authentication apps to keep your account safe from any hacking incident. 2FA is the best way to protect yourself from any data breach, since one time use codes being sent to you are basically untraceable. Not to mention that those codes tend to become invalid in minutes, so even if a hacker manages to get hold of them, they will serve no purpose, similar to the Steam “hack”. Enabling 2FA pretty much coats your account in a protective film that prevents any hackers from trespassing, so better do it as soon as you can. We at Infinite Start will cover the ways to do so.

GOG enables the best protection

Setting up 2FA is very easy to do, there’s plenty of tutorials online to do so. Most of the time, you rely on 3rd party apps like Authy to link your accounts to a safe place that generates an untraceable code. Each account will have one of those codes assigned, and to properly access it, you will be prompted to insert it. This way, its basically impossible for a hacker to breach into your account, in the case a data breach ever happened to that site of course.

Even with this protection, make sure to always use a strong password saved in an offline password manager. There’s plenty of open source tools that allow you to organize your passwords in a safe local storage that you can access at any time. By doing this, you can have an unique password per site as a normal user should have. This removes the hassle of taking notes or having to memorize many accounts.

If you take these steps to protect your security on the internet, you won’t have to deal with any headaches in the future. It’s very easy to set up these things, only some searches away on the internet can reveal a world of security ahead.
