Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is getting the first half of Dragon Ball Daima anime as it’s upcoming DLC

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is about to get even bigger as the action RPG is set to get all new characters from the entire first half of the Dragon Ball Daima anime as part of it’s upcoming new Adventure through the Demon Realm Part 1 DLC on July 17. Publisher Bandai Namco has released a short trailer showcasing major characters from Daima such as Glorio, Shin, Panzy, and Goku along with some minor characters from the anime. So if you’ve enjoyed the latest Dragon Ball Daima anime, you’re going to love playing as these characters in the upcoming DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Also, the rest of the characters from the anime and the ones that viewers are most excited for such as Vegeta with his new Super Saiyan 3 transformation and Goku with his Super Saiyan 4 form will also make their way into Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot in the next part of the Demon Realm DLC which will probably arrive sometimes later this year, similar to the DLCs for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

The trailer features Japanese voices for the new characters so it seems the DLC will be in Japanese when it comes out and perhaps an English dub will be added later into the game.

The main difference between Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Sparking Zero is that the former is an Action RPG while the latter is an all-out fighting game which means Kakarot gives the players far more control over it’s characters than Sparking Zero. So even if you get the exact same characters in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Kakarot will still provide a vastly different experience with said characters which makes getting both worthwhile.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot came out back in 2020 and is a faithful re-telling of the original Dragon Ball Z anime, starting with the Saiyan Saga and ending with the Majin Buu Saga, while also adding a slew of new contents of it’s own. Receiving generally mixed reviews at release, Kakarot was a definite hit with over 8 million copies sold worldwide as of July 2024. The new expansion will possibly boost it’s sales even further with the addition of whole new characters into the game’s roster.
