Borderlands 4 Will Reveal New Information Soon

Borderlands fans worldwide have a date to put in their calendars: May 9th. Gearbox Software will be presenting a “lengthy” segment focused on Borderlands 4 as part of the PAX East showcase, as reported via their official website. It will be live-streamed on the official Gearbox Twitch channel at 10:00 AM PT.

This presentation is set to provide a treasure trove of fresh information regarding the much-awaited sequel. Fans and guests can anticipate learning from some of the game’s top people in charge of its development, such as Gearbox President Randy Pitchford, Global Creative Officer Andrew Reiner, Lead Game Designer Nick Thurston, Associate Director of Narrative April Johnson, and Associate Creative Director Gran Kao. This community will go into the nitty-gritty of Borderlands 4, emphasizing information on the new characters, worlds, and the increased number of weapons that the players will get to experience.

Borderlands 4 promises to build upon what came before it, maintaining the irreverent humor, crazy gunplay, and cartoonish art style that the franchise has come to be associated with. The developers are making some significant changes as well, though. One such change is redoing the skill tree system, and introducing a new way of doing character building. The game will also build upon the already vast amount of weapons, offering players even greater choice in their quest for loot.

Though the PAX East preview is creating a great buzz, Borderlands 4 will be available for fans to play hands-on again in June, at the first hands-on event. The game is to be released on September 12, 2025, and in a surprise move, has been officially confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2, among other AAA games such as Cyberpunk 2077. What this implies is that Nintendo is trying to position its new console as a more powerful machine that can handle high-end games.

Borderlands has had its own loyal fan base throughout the years, and with Grand Theft Auto 6 now delayed, Borderlands 4 is in even a better position to take the spotlight.
