Assassin’s Creed Shadows Post-Launch Roadmap Unveiled, featuring New Story Missions, New Game Plus and more

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is about to get even bigger and better as Ubisoft has just unveiled the year long post-launch roadmap for the Open World Stealth title, which means the game is set to receive bonus contents throughout the year which will increase it’s playability to whole new heights. The official roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows includes extra story missions, a New Game Plus option, new difficulty settings, several fan-requested gameplay features and many more.

The roadmap plans are detailed in a four and a half minute update video from Ubisoft that you can watch right here. It also offers a glimpse of all the upcoming contents that are coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows throughout this year.

The upcoming story contents for Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be totally free and will add exciting new elements into the game such as new allies for your base along with new abilities and activities. There will also be “additional backstory that will permanently impact the game”, as stated by Ubisoft which means the story add-ons will possibly have lasting implications on the main narrative.

The new story additions will also focus on further fleshing out and adding depth to several side characters in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as hinted by the upcoming story mission ‘The Works of Luis Frois’ which is centered around a Portuguese character named Luis Frois in the game and is expected to come out in early May. It’ll be followed by an in-game Codex Update, Parkour additions, Photo Mode Update and other quality-of-life improvements.

While another update to Assassin’s Creed Shadows will arrive in June, featuring more challenging difficulties, a new Open World Alarm system, an option to keep headgear on characters during in-game cutscenes and more. Further new contents such as the New Game Plus option and even more story contents are expected later this year as well.

However, there isn’t much detail on Shadows’ first major expansion Claws of Awaji which will add a whole new explorable region into the game plus more than 10 hours of new content. The expansion will be free for everyone who pre-ordered the game and will come out sometimes later this year.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows came out on March 20 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC platform.
