Ubisoft under legal attack by a privacy firm as of Apr.24th

Ubisoft is currently under legal fire. A privacy firm has discovered that millions of users that play Ubisoft games have all of their personal information shared between more than 150 companies. This is outrageous, and no matter if you are playing on console or PC, you are affected. There’s speculation that even credit card data, if you were gullible enough to give them, is now public. Companies run the world, so there’s a big probability that they will find a way to bribe someone to defend them. However, privacy firms take their work seriously, and this might not go unpunished. We at Infinite Start will cover what could happen in the future of Ubisoft.

Ubisoft is in trouble for real

As of April 24th, it seems that Ubisoft will have to deal with some legal troubles, on top of the other ones they have pending. This time, if they do not comply with the GDPR, they can face a fine of at least 92 million euros. This one seems to be a correct punishment to apply, yet, I feel like it is a slap in the wrist of a mega corporation who has trillions. It is still something to celebrate however.

We really don’t know what can happen, but many players are tired of the antics of Ubisoft and refuse to comply any longer. Ubisoft killed Rayman by making it into an NFT, they also destroyed Assassin’s Creed with terrible gameplay that has nothing to do with stealth. Companies who don’t respect what they do and their client do not deserve to succeed.

Hopefully, this can serve as a precedent for more companies like Ubisoft to start changing their ways, or collapsing. We have the power to decide the future of this industry, we just need to pressure this shady companies by not giving them money or data. The only way to win the game, is to actually not even play their games at all.
